Are all languages supported by SMSGlobal?
Yes, SMSGlobal supports local, regional and international languages. Unicode messaging is a feature that allows you to send messages in different languages and uses a wider character set. For Example Arabic, Urdu, Russian and Hindi just to name a few are all supported using Unicode. Please refer to understanding a Unicode message below for more information.
-
Understanding Unicode messages
Unicode standard is a type of character encoding system designed for consistency in the computing industry. The Unicode system is able to handle a large set of letters and symbols that are not contained within the standard GSM alphabet. The GSM alphabet includes all Latin characters, digits and a few special symbols. Languages such as Arabic and Russian, technical symbols and picture characters are classified as Unicode characters. A standard SMS allows you to send 160 characters for a single SMS. If you’re using Unicode characters in your SMS for languages such as Arabic the character limit is restricted to a maximum of 70 characters per SMS. You can, however, send longer messages by splitting your SMS into a multi-part message. All modern mobile phones are capable of concatenating mutli-part messages into one long message, stitching the SMS together with an end result of showing the entire message as one. For more information please contact our support team. Alternatively, login to MXT to view our knowledgebase category on Understanding Unicode Characters and Messages.
